Имение Т. Джефферсона [ Jefferson, Thomas] в Вирджинии; расположено на холме в 5 км от г. Шарлотсвилла, один из наиболее ценных и известных памятников архитектуры США. Проекты здания, его интерьеров и план усадьбы разработаны самим Джефферсоном. Строительство особняка в стиле неоклассицизма началось в 1770 и закончилось в 1809. Оно весьма интересно с архитектурной и инженерной точек зрения: будучи трехэтажным, из-за особой формы окон кажется одноэтажным. В доме хозяин организовал собственный музей. Джефферсон переехал в Монтиселло до окончания работ и жил в нем в течение 56 лет. Здесь 4 июля 1826 он скончался и похоронен на территории усадьбы. Надпись на обелиске составлена им самим. В 1926 Мемориальный фонд Т. Джефферсона [Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation] открыл здесь музей, и усадьба стала местом паломничества тысяч американцев. Площадь около 260 га.
